I’m Beck Lewis, author of the Dead Ends series and the Female Rage thrillers.
I write crime fiction about ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances — stories where the mystery matters, but the people matter even more.
Whether I’m writing a police investigation, a revenge thriller or something in between, I want every book to leave readers feeling they’ve been taken on a satisfying journey by someone they can trust.
Why I write
Writing has been part of my life for most of my adult years.
For me, stories are a way of understanding the world. They let us examine injustice, explore difficult questions and experience lives that aren’t our own.
I believe readers deserve stories that respect both their intelligence and their time. A Beck Lewis novel should be gripping from the opening chapter, emotionally rewarding by the final page, and always feel like it’s in safe hands.
A Midlands writer
I’m proud to write stories rooted in the Midlands.
The places, communities and people here shape my work. Rather than treating the Midlands as somewhere characters pass through, I like making it central to the story.

Beyond the page
Before becoming a full-time writer I worked in a variety of jobs, each one teaching me something about people — their fears, ambitions, habits and secrets.
Today you’ll often find me making short films, filming social media content, speaking at festivals and libraries, chatting with readers, or dreaming up unusual ways to bring stories to life.
I’ve previously written bestselling fiction under other names, some of which has been optioned for television. Beck Lewis is where my fascination with crime, justice and human nature comes together.
